 Open opportunity for an individual with knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Successful candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate, negotiate and cooperate with varied individuals; exercise good organizational and time management skills; show self-motivation and initiative. Individual must possess skills for presenting and arguing cases in court and administrative hearings; good legal research skills and the ability to multi-task and work under pressure with minimal supervision.

 

This is a full-time benefit eligible position, located in Jefferson City. Starting Salary: $55,157.

 

Position Details

This position is responsible for serving as Legal Counsel to the Missouri State Board of Nursing; litigating cases before the Administrative Hearing Commission and the board; insuring compliance with state and federal laws and the Sunshine Law; drafting complaints, settlement agreements, and Board orders; and serving as legal advisor to the Board in hearings. Successful candidate should demonstrate a positive attitude and the willingness to complete all responsibilities of the position. This position also requires knowledge of administrative rules of evidence.  Knowledge of computer applications such as Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel  preferred.

 

Qualifications

  • Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited university.
  • Two years legal experience.
  • Admitted to the Missouri Bar.
  • Experience practicing before the Administrative Hearing Commission preferred, but not required.
